Simple DIY -Target Wooden Peg Board

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you all a super easy DIY. It takes a few minutes to do, but transform this kid like peg board into something more chic. I picked this peg board from Target. It was only $3 from the dollar section and I knew I could spray paint this into something more modern.

I loved the way this simple DIY turned out all you really need is a can of spray paint in the color of your choosing and BAM you have a unique peg board custom to your style.

Please let me know if you enjoy these kinds of blog post so I can do more of them in the future.

What has been your favorite DIY that you have done?

Have a great day! I will see you on Friday.

New Chapter: Moving + Unpacking

Happy Monday Everyone!

The last two months have been consumed with packing, moving, quitting my second job and finding a balance with my life. I decided to take a step away from my blog and focus on actually living my life.

As always I try and document the major shifts in my life and this is one that I feel like I had to take a little bit longer to share. I finally started to put my room together and through I would share some snapshots of that process.

This marks my return to my blog and I feel excited for the new more mature content. I hope you all stick around and enjoy the this new chapter of my life and of my blog.

What are some new life changes you are currently experiencing?

Have a great day!

How To: A Tassel Garland (Step by Step)

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Two weeks ago I got the pleasure of throwing one of my closest friends a bridal shower. I did a ton of DIY’s and I wanted to share a few post explaining my experience. First off is this super easy step by step tassel garland. This is a super cheap way to decorate any space.

Step 1: Fold a single sheet of tissue paper in the middle (Hot dog style).

Step 2: Fold it again in half (hamburger style).

Step 3: Begin to cut 1/2 a inch strips leaving 3 inches at the top. Make sure that you start to cut at the end that does not have the folded crease!

Step 4: Open up your cut tissue paper and cut the long strip that is in the middle to match the other strips you have previously cut and instead of stopping 3 inches from the top cut all the way. You will have to pieces of cut tissue paper as seen in the 2nd picture above.

Step 5: Open up the cut tissue paper and roll it inward forming a burrito. Un tangle the cut strips as you roll.

Step 6: Twist the 3 inch that you left uncut and fold in half to have a place to feed the string through.

Step 7: Feed the string through your untapped tassel and tape leaving enough space for you to move the tassel if desired. Remember that you always wrap more tape to tighten it, but you cannot remove the tape if it is too tight and you can’t move it on your string.

Step 8: Continue this step 1-7 until you have the desired number of tassels. Feel free to customize them with as many colors as you want.

Have a great day and I will see you on Friday !

D.I.Y Room Decoration

I have been feeling a bit crafty lately and I wanted to show you what I made.
I wanted to make something simple but that captured the eye.

It is a super easy D.I.Y that you can customize which ever way you want it.
Do a different shape use different supplies, add other things like color.
The possibilities are endless I promise.

Here is what you will need:
Flowers/shapes of your choice (make sure they are 3 dimensional for a better effect)
A canvas (I got my in a pack of 3 for less than 5 bucks)
super glue
Ribbon (to hang it up, and show it off!)

Places your flowers/shapes in whatever shape/order you want the finished product to be in. I decided to do a heart to go with my room decoration.

Now it’s time to begin gluing your flowers/shapes to the canvas.

One thing I found out is that when you use super glue on canvas you have to let it dry a lot longer than expected. I did 4-5 flowers at a time and did something else. I came back every 3-5 min to do the another 4-5 flowers. My reasoning for this was I didn’t want to mess up. Like they say patients is a virtue.

Be careful super glue will stick to your hands (No bueno!)

The final step is to add ribbon to the back to be able to hang it up. I used two different colors a white for the back and a lime green for the front. I wanted to double the sturdiness for this project.

And you have your finished product. Enjoy!
Let me know if you try this out I would love to see your masterpiece.

Have a great weekend!
See you on Monday.
