January Favorites 2014

I can’t believe January is gone! Where did the time go? Okay, so I am not really that sad to see January go. I am excited for warmer months and no more talk of the polar vortex. I am freezing my bum off and the weather is never leave your bed/house weather. With that being said I guess it’s time for my monthly favorites post. I hope you all enjoy!

Let’s talk skin care first shall we.

I am not sure what happened this month but I used quite a few skin care products that have really surprised me. Let’s start by talking about cleansers. As you can see I have three that I rotated through this past month. Partially because I ran out of my Michael Todd Organic honey and oat cleanser. I went back to my Philosophy Purity cleanser. I have tried to use my Neutrogena pink grapefruit cleanser a lot less (one a day) than what I had been using it (twice a day). I want to start to lock down on a skin care routine that uses less products and is relatively affordable, since I will be going to Grad school and money will be tight for a year or so.

I want to talk about my two favorite moisturizer that I just discovered this past month. They are both samples that I just wanted to get rid off, but ended up being the best thing I could try for my skin. Both of these are very moisturizing and leave your skin feeling soft and amazing. I use the Clinique Moisture surge during the day since it is a lot lighter on the skin and I use the Burts Bees Intense Hydration at night because that is very thick. Overall I have been loving the addition of these two products onto my skin care routine.

This month my hair has been a bit dry and blah. I always try to do a deep conditioner when I feel like my hair is having a bad couple of days. I am a huge fan of Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditioner. I apply this twice a week and my hair feels softer and shiny. A huge plus when you are dealing with really cold temperatures.

For makeup this month I tried to keep things simple mainly because my eczema and my dry patches weren’t cooperating with this cold weather. Sometimes even the best moisturizer can’t get rid of a stubborn dry patch brought on by my eczema *sigh*. I have been loving this Covergirl Outlast foundation paired with my Maybelline Dark circle eraser concealer. They provided the most natural look without skimping on the coverage. I finish the skin off with a little bit of this Tarte blush in Achiote and I’m good to go.

I hope everyone had a great January and that you are all excited for February!
See you on Monday!

What I’m Loving Week #4

Welcome to another start of a fabulous week. If we all keep saying that it sure it must come true, right?
Well here are a few things that I have been loving this week. Enjoy!

This past week was a really good one. Here is a glimpse at a small part of why it was really good.

First off I finally found a pair of green pants. YES! I will not be getting pinched for Saint Patrick’s Day. Now all I have to do is to remember to wear them. The next thing I want to talk about is how long my hair has gotten man am I shocked. Part of the reason why I feel like it has gotten this long is because I am taking extra care of it. I have been using this deep conditioner for the last 6 months. Can you say cheap and and amazing product. Where has this been all my life?
One word Urban Decay Naked Palette 2. This is a staple in my daily routine to achieve a effortless yet wearable look.

How could I have gone this long without mentioning some type of chocolate? Well it’s never to late to say that this week I am hopelessly in love with these Ghiradelli Squares the milk and caramel ones Yumm! If you have never tried these DO IT! they are incredible 🙂

The last two things have been staple products in my life for the last two weeks. Philosophy’s Take a deep breath oil free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer. Man that is a mouth full. This moisturizer has been so good with my skin type: Oily and eczema prone. I am looking into buying a full size of this product.
The last thing is my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. If you apply this to your lids and then add Buck to your crease from the original naked palette you have a simple yet beautiful day appropriate look.

What has made your last week a great one? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned?

I hope you all have a great week!
See you on Wednesday.
