A Birthday Celebration: Casual Dress

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a few photos I took while celebrating my friends birthday. She celebrated her 25th birthday with me and I was truly honored she decided that I would be the best person to spend her special day with! We grabbed food at one of my favorite places which happens to be an hour away from where we live. A rod trip was a must and who better to share a long car ride with than with a birthday girl!

This is the lovely birthday girl! Can you believe she is 25?!!!!

What I wore:

Dress: Target

Belt: Goodwill

Sandals: Walmart

Bracelets: Alex & Ani

Sunglasses: Target

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

I will see you all on Wednesday!

“I don’t know why you don’t take me downtown anymore.”

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I got to have a relaxing saturday filled with Halloween costume planning and running some errands. On Sunday I was lucky enough to be able to celebrate one of my best friends 25th birthday. We drove to another city to enjoy a late breakfast/lunch and just spend some nice quality time together.

We managed to find a little corner in the downtown mall that we went to and we were able to take some pictures of what we wore. It ended up being a beautiful Sunday filled with good food, great Chai and lots of good conversation.

Enjoy the post.

Happy New Years Eve & OOTD

First off Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years Day.
I wanted to share my outfit with you all. Yes! this is super casual, but I have to work and I didn’t feel like dressing up too much. Sometimes the best outfits are the casual ones. I also wanted to share some family New Years Eve traditions at the end of the post so keep reading!

Top: Express
Jeans: Aeropostale
Boots: Kohl’s
Necklace: NY & CO.

Every New Year’s Eve my family and I stay up to watch the ball drop. Typically you are supposed to toast the beginning of the New Year with something bubbly aka Champagne. I always drink a nice glass of water to begin the year of right. Being hydrated is the best thing I can do for my body right as your bringing in a new year.

Ever since I can remember we scarf down 12 grapes while we count the last ten seconds of the year. I asked my mom why did we do such a strange tradition? She replied with saying each grape signifies the 12 months of the upcoming year, and you eat them as fast as you can without choking for good luck! I have been doing this for so long that her answer was “normal”.

Whether you have any traditions or not I wish you a very Happy New Year Eve with all of your loved ones. I wish everyone of you a amazing 2014 may all your resolutions and wishes come true! Stay safe and warm and I will talk to you in 2014!

Style Saturday: Polka dots and boots

Happy Saturday Everyone!
I am so excited to be bringing you a cute/stylish (let’s hope so) outfit of the day. I will try to pick one outfit a week to show you and hopefully get more suggestions on how to use each piece.

Excuse the hair I had a lot of things going on and just wasn’t feeling putting it up. That meant my hair was natural and free which made me like this outfit even more, go figure!

These are the booties I featured in this post and I had been really scared of wearing them. I did wear them with tights and a skirt but that has been done plenty of times. I wanted to play with them with pants for a more comfortable look. Since I am so short (5’0 ft) I rolled up them a tiny bit so the outfit didn’t make me look like a 5-year-old (this happens a lot).

I have to confess that I am completely lost on how to style these boots they are a weird height and they really don’t flatter my legs when worn with regular jeans. Style is about trying new things that make you come out of your comfort zone right? So why not start with booties *what I kept telling myself*.

How would you rock each piece? Any ideas you would like to give me?

OOTD: Polka Dots -Day 18

Welcome back it’s finally Friday! Yay! Let the weekend start. Today I have a very cute outfit of the day for you all. Super simple but very comfortable and cute.

So there is a story as to why you are looking at my grill and a green rug in this picture. I normally move stuff around when I take my outfits of the day so you can just focus on the outfit not the background junk. I was getting ready to move this stuff and one of my neighbors was walking his dog and saw that I was taking pictures of myself. He proceeded to scream and sing and make me super uncomfortable. I ended up getting too scared to move anything and just took the pictures and went back inside. I watched him come back past my house again and he was looking for me, but luckily I was in the comfort of my own home and away from him. Again I apologize for the mess in the background.

Outfit Details:
-Top: Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s
-Jeans: Delia’s
-Beanie: H&M

See you all tomorrow for a yummy recipe.

OOTD: Blue Jeans and Some Sparkle – Day 11

Welcome Back! I want to say Thank you so much to all of you for all of love and support you have shown me while attempting this blog challenge. You comments keep me motivated to complete this! And YES I did cut my hair it was a much-needed change!

On to this Fridays’s Outfit Of the Day.
I decided to keep it casual for work this time and pulled out my trusty blue jeans. I tossed on this orange top with a statement necklace. I picked up this necklace from Baublebar last month when Ingrid or missglamorazzi from youtube announced her collab with Baublebar. I was instantly drawn to this particular necklace and I knew I had to have it.
