Review: Maybelline Master Contour Face Contouring Kit

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I am reviewing one of the newest drugstore products you can find on shelves. It is the Maybelline face contouring kit. This comes in two shades: 10- light to medium and 20-  medium to deep. This retails between $9.99 and $12.99 depending on where you get it. This palette is suppose to help you achieve a beautiful contoured/healthy face in three easy step.

How they say you should apply it:

Step 1. CONTOUR
Use narrow side of brush. Blend bronzer in a “3” shape along the hairline and jawline and under the cheekbones.

Step 2. BLUSH
Use wide side of brush. Apply blush onto the cheekbones above bronzer and blend.

Sweep finger above cheekbones and on center of forehead, chin and bridge of the nose.

What I think you should do:

Use narrow side of brush. I think the brush they provide is ridiculous it is not going to give you a natural looking contour. In fact it will make you want to burn it because it’s so small. Use your favorite angled bronzer brush and Blend the bronzer in a “3” shape along the hairline and jawline and under the cheekbones. Blend until you feel it looks natural enough.

Use wide side of brush. Again with the crappy brush they provide. Seriously you aren’t going to get a natural looking application with that brush. Use your favorite fluffy blush brush and apply blush onto the cheekbones above bronzer and blend.

Sweep finger. Please don’t use your fingers you will get a very concentrated amount of highlight that way. Use a fan brush or a stipple brush with a very light hand to apply above cheekbones and on center of forehead, chin and bridge of the nose.

Overall I think this is a great idea for a palette we have so many high-end contour palettes that have played around with the same idea and I love that the drugstore has started carrying these. If you are new to the contouring game this is a very friendly way to jump right in and experiment.

Are you a fan of these kinds of palettes? What are your thoughts on this contour kit?

Have a great day!

January Favorites 2016

Happy Monday Everyone!
I can’t believe that January has come and gone! This month had a lot of ups and downs for me. Honestly I’m just ready to close this chapter of  my life and get back to the daily grind of school and the addition of my part time job. I did manage to have a few new things I wanted to share with you that made my month great!

The first one is this Tartelette in Bloom Palette. I have been absolutely obsessed over this and I love trying out new combinations and looks.

The next two products are the IT Cosmetics CC+ Lip Serum and the Maybelline the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara. I love how both of these products finish off my every day look. The lip serum is a beautiful every day color.

I have been in love with my install mini 8 polaroid camera. Best christmas gift to myself!

Last but not least I have to give a shoutout to this beautiful necklace my good friend gave me for christmas. It’s small enough for every day wear, but still makes a really subtle statement that pulls any outfit together.

I hope you enjoyed my January Favorites and that you have a great start to February. I plan on posting some awesome Valentine’s DIY’s so stay tune.

What are some of your favorites for this last month?

Have a great day!

December Favorites 2015

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you all my December Favorites. This past month flew by and honestly I didn’t think I was going to have enough products to share with you all. I managed to try a few new things and I thought it was worth a mention.

As you can see I have a array of products that kept me busy in December. I ran out of a few of my holy grail products and had a few things in my drawer that I hadn’t had a chance to use so here they are.

The blushed Nudes by Maybelline

This palette has been in my collection for a while and every now and again it makes a appearance in my daily routine. I love the gold and blushed tones this palette has. On the plus side it’s also affordable and accessible.

The Too Faced Brow Envy Brow Shaping & Defining Kit

This was one of those product that replaced a holy grail item in my collection. I ran out of my Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and needed something for my brows and I had this in my collection untouched. Needless to say that this has been a unique brow palette that I have been enjoying using.

Essie’s Summit Of Style and All Eyes On Nudes Nail Polish

These two have been on my nails pretty much all month. I absolutely love them paired together. I love how classy and effortless they look together.

Origins Clear Improvement Mask & Kat Von D Ink Liner

These two mini’s have been so much fun to try out this past month! I had stopped using masks due to not having enough time in my schedule, but when the semester finished I decided I needed to pamper my skin. So far I love this mask it’s not drying or irritating. This liner was such a nice little surprise. I had stopped using liquid liners because I hated how they rubbed off and never lasted until the end of the day. That changed once i tried this liner.

NEST INDIGO Parfum & Dove Deodorant

I love smelling clean and fresh and these two products are my go to for accomplishing that mission. I absolutely recommend the Nest perfumes they are amazing and last all day.

I hope you all enjoyed my December Favorites! Thank you for sticking with me on my 16 days of January. I am enjoying posting regularly and I hope you do too!

What are your favorite products for December?

See you all in two days!

July Favorites 2015

Happy Friday Everyone!

I can’t believe August is just around the corner!!! July has definitely been a busy month for me, but I know August will be even more crazy and hectic. So many awesome things are happening this upcoming month and I am a bit scared yet looking forward to the changes! With that being said today I wanted to share some of the things I have been loving this past month.

For makeup this month I have kept things very simple and these have been the products I have been loving for a every day look.

-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind

-Tarte Blush in Thankful

-L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Powder

For skincare I have kept it super simple nothing crazy! Summer really does a number on my skin and the less I put on my face the better my oily skin does.

-First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

-CeraVe Eye Repair Cream

Last but not least are two items that I was very impressed with. I picked both of these items on sale and wasn’t expecting much from them, but surprisingly I really enjoy them.

-NYX Matte Blotting Paper

-Milani Color Statement -Gilded Rocks

Over all this month was very good to me beauty wise and I love that this upcoming month I will have multiple opportunities to get dressed up and play around with more of my makeup.

What are some of your favorite beauty products for the month of July? Any new products you would recommend?

Have a great weekend! I will see you on Monday!

Glamourous Gold : Eye look

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you all a look I have been rocking all week. I wanted to experiment with some of the makeup I had forgotten about and this is what I came up with. This isn’t a tutorial per say, but it’s super easy to recreate.

I used a gold base from Milani to make the gold eye shadow in this Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette pop and show up true to color. Then I used a dark brown in my L’Oreal La Palette Nude 1 to define my crease and viola!

For a bit of definition in my lash line I put a bit of the black eyeshadow from Wet n’ Wild and finished up the look with my Bite Lipstick in Lingonberry.

A Simple and wearable look in just a few minutes what more can you ask for?!

Have a great Weekend! I will see you on Monday!

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette + eye look

IMG_0883Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I bring you another review on a new palette. This go around it’s the Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette a sister palette to the Maybelline The Nudes Palette that was released a couple months ago. I decided to skip that palette because it looked like a ton of other palettes that I already owned. I have no justification for purchasing this palette other than the colors that come in this drew me in. It has very similar tones to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.

Honestly I was expecting a little bit more out of this palette. I fell in love with a few shades that I though would be beautiful paired together only to find out that they aren’t as pigmented as I hoped they would be. I did manage to create a eye look I fell in love with and feel the need to share with you all.

How to recreate the look:

Apply #1 all over the lid as a base.

Then Apply #2 in the center of the lid.

Apply #3 in the crease, blending as you build up the intensity.

Lastly Apply #4 as your highlight.

If you own any of the Urban Decay palettes skip this one. If you are new to makeup and are looking for something affordable and versatile check and see if this one would work out for you, or even the L’OREAL LA Palettes Nudes 1 & 2, review on those here and here. If you have a extensive palette collection I would definitely skip this one!

Are you a fan of all of the drugstore palettes that are coming out?

Have a great Weekend and I will se you on Monday!
