My Favorite High-end Highlighters

Happy Monday Everyone!

This past weekend I went to a local beauty convention and it got me thinking about how when I started my makeup journey I didn’t know how to distinguish between what kind of product was going to work with my skin and the products that the beauty gurus were “selling me”. I am easily steered into peer pressure and ended up buying product that completely sucked. If I had to tell my younger self what products I should be investing in I would want her to know this about high-end highlighters.

Highlighting can be such a intimidating thing so start with a versatile product that will give you more bang for your buck. I do have to point out that the highlights I mention come from my collection and there are plenty of other great highlights, but these are the ones I wish I knew about sooner.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette will provide you all you need until you are ready to move onto a more power punching highlight. This palette has three shades that can be used all over the skin. It’s soft enough to be worn every day and can be built upon each other to create a more dramatic look for school dances and parties.

The Fenty Beauty Killawatt highlight is a next level highlighter. It brings two different tones that allow you to mix and create a really show stopping look. The Mean Money highlighter can be worn every day and if you mix it with Hu$tla Baby it creates a really show stopping look.

This Dose of Colors Highlighter by the Desi X Katy is one of my absolute favorites. This highlighter look a bit dark in the pan, but when applied to my skin it’s absolutely stunning. If I build it up it definitely is a show stopper.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post style.

Let me know what other beauty product I should do next?

Have a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday!

2017 Beauty Favorites

Happy Monday Everyone!

Happy 2018, I can’t believe that 2017 has come to a close and that we are starting a new year once again. I am excited for the plans I have for this year. I am also excited to see how my makeup routine evolves as this year goes on. In the last 12 months I have fallen in love with red lips, illuminated skin and glittery eye looks. I can honestly tell you that will not be the case come 2018. As humans we tend to switch things up based on where we are in life and how we want to feel.

With that being said here are 17 products I loved in 2017, enjoy!

Overall you can see that I stuck with quite a few things from the high-end side. I want to focus on more drugstore finds this year.

If you have any drugstore recommendations, please leave a comment below.

I hope you all are enjoying your New Year’s Day!

See you all on Wednesday.

My Favorite Mini’s

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite mini products. Is it just me or is everything better miniature? These are products that I have obtained from kits that I have purchased or freebies from a purchase that I made.

My obsession with lip products is real! The Smashbox formula is one of my favorites and I have recently become obsessed with the Stila Stay all day formula.  I love that these are travel friendly and compact. The best part is that they have lasted quite a while with me using them daily.

I love these two holy grail products. They have been some of my favorites for years and I always manage to get these mini’s every time I buy products. I can’t rave enough about the Too Faced shadow insurance. It is amazing for gals with oily lids. The same goes for the Origins GinZings eye cream. I absolutely love what this cream does for my under eyes.

This is my favorite blush and highlighter duo, and I just recently discover it. Believe it or not I just tried the NARS Orgasm Blush and I am absolutely in love. Then when I paired it with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector and I was absolutely blown away.

Last but not least is this Estee Lauder Foundation with the RealTechniques mini blending sponge. The combination of these two things are just golden in my book. This foundation has such amazing coverage and this sponge helps me blend my foundation and concealer near my eyes in ways I could not do so using a brush.

New Year’s Eve-Makeup Tutorial

Happy Saturday Everyone!

As we all gear to wrap up 2016 I wanted to post one last blog post, but I wasn’t sure what to talk about. So instead of just doing a random blog post about a topic I wasn’t too thrilled about I thought I would post a tutorial for my New Years Eve makeup look. I have to work so I kept it pretty simple, but still very chic and worthy of the New Year.

So here is what I used for this eye look:

-Laura Mercier Caviar stick Eye Color in Rose Gold

-LORAC PRO Mega 3 Palette

-Essences Eyeliner Pen

-Maybelline Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara

I hope you all enjoyed this look and that you have a happy and healthy New Year. I am so excited to see what 2017 has in store for me and this little corner of the internet.

See you all in 2017!

Have a great NYE and stay safe.

Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I am sharing my thoughts on this new makeup setting spray. As you all know I have super oily skin. I am always on the hunt for products that can help my face stay matte a little bit longer. I know that there will never be a product that completely takes away my oiliness, but there are a few that do help.

Product details:

-A fine mist that minimizes pores, gently mattifies, and sets makeup while keeping skin hydrated.

-White Charcoal helps keep moisture locked in and provides long-term skin benefits.

-Skin is left shine-free yet hydrated, and makeup is locked in place.

I bought this not really hoping for much. I have tried so many products and I was a bit skeptical. What is this white charcoal ? Can it really help my oiliness?

I have started using this before I apply my powder and I have noticed quite a difference. This spray dries within minutes and does not leave any type of residue. I love that you can get a smaller size to try it out & to travel with for only $12. You can purchase a bigger size for $38 here.

Overall I see myself repurchasing this again. I am curious to see what will happen when I use this in the colder months and if I still notice a difference.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts? What is your go to setting spray?

Have a great day!

Review: Bosnia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I am reviewing a new mask/ treatment that I picked up a month or so ago and I was  extremely curious to try out. I picked mine up in a bundle with another Boscia mask that I will be reviewing later this month.

This is what they claim it will do:

This decadent treatment is formulated with the power of black and white charcoal and the added benefits from Kaolin Clay to detoxify and cleanse the skin and pores deeply without irritation. The formula also moisturizes, balances, and hydrates for a clearer, more refined, stronger, and healthier looking complexion.

This mask was so interesting to use. The pot contains two different colors of product and you mix them both to create the final product that you place on your face. It dries up like any other mask you would use. I could definitely tell that my face felt cleaner and more refreshed  after using this. Keep in mind that you will feel this on your skin working it’s magic so if you aren’t into mask that have a little bit of tingle or presence to them this may not be for you.

I think this is a nice treat if you are looking for a new mask that leaves your face and skin feeling refreshed.

Have you tried this mask? Are you a fan of Boscia products?

Have a great day!

Clinique Favorites

Happy Monday Everyone!

I’m sorry for being absent this past week, but I went home to take care of my mom who had surgery this past weekend. It has been a rough couple of days and I needed to distract my mind with something I enjoyed. So here we are…

Let’s talk about Clinique and some of my favorite products from them. I have known about this brand for about 4 years, not that long. In that time I have fallen in love with a few things that they have come out with and I wanted to share.

First off is my HOLY GRAIL moisturizer the dramatically different moisturizing gel. This stuff is amazing for oily skin people. I absolutely love the moisture it gives my skin without the extra oil. Next we have the Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder that was just recently added to my collection. I love how this is build-able and light weight on my skin.

Another recent addition to  my collection is this Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. I absolutely love the coverage this has and how bendable this is. Last but not least is one of my very first Clinique finds which is the Almost lipstick in Black Honey. This is such a build able color that does not dry out your lips.

I hope you enjoyed my Clinique favorites! If you haven’t checked out what Clinique has to offer I would highly suggest it. I think they have something for everyone from skincare to makeup you will surely find something worth trying.

Let me know if you want me to do other brand favorites like this one?

Do you have any favorite products from Clinique?

Have a great day!
