Taking Care of One’s self

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day, As you walk around today thinking about all the love that is being shown all around you I want to take a moment and focus on you! Yes you. Often times we tend to over look ourselves because we focus on others. Well I thought it would be appropriate to switch that up and share some ways that I do self care. Self Care is a term that we use regularly in social work and basically it means how are we taking care of ourselves. How are we replenishing our glass to be able to keep giving? Anyone in the working profession can tell you when you just give and give you burn out and that’s exactly what can happen in life if we don’t take care of ourselves we can and we will burn out.

#1: Pamper yourself

Okay so I know not everyone likes to pamper themselves, but hear me out when I say that when you feel good you actually de-stress and tend to accomplish more. So if you have been meaning to get that haircut or get your nails done do it! Spending time on yourself is one of the best investments you can do.

#2: Take time to do something you enjoy

Lately I have been reading and blogging a lot more because I know both of those things help reduce my stress and give me at least 30 min to a 1 hour of time where nothing else is pressing. Finding the time to achieve this is hard but totally worth it.

#3: Enjoy a treat!

Take the time to treat yourself to your favorite treat and if you have the time to make it that’s even better. I opted to get some freshly baked cupcakes at my local bakery.

#4: Take a moment to B R E A T H

A way that I enjoy taking a breath is by meditating and I use this wonderful app that gives me a 5 minute guided meditation that leaves me feeling calm and ready to tackle my day or the next part of my day.

I hope this was a good reminder to take sometime for yourself this week! You are important and you need to make sure that you are looking after yourself.

What is your favorite way to do self care?

Have a great Valentine’s Day!

My February!

Happy Monday Everyone!

This blog post will be a introduction to this upcoming months theme. I thought it would be a nice change for the blog if I focused all of this months blog post on a particular theme. This months theme is going to be MY February. With Valentine’s Day coming up I wanted to focus all of my blog post on You. How can we make this month be extra special for us. Don’t worry I will have a little bit of everything from recipes to makeup tutorials and we can’t forget reviews with a few other things sprinkled here and there.

Here are a few picture previews for you all to get you excited.

I will be featuring some guest bloggers on Friday that will be bringing a new spin to some of my favorite post so stay tune for that!

I promise to bring you all interesting content as well as some of the old things you are used to on this lovely space.

Now grab you coffee or your favorite tea and let’s get started.

Here’s to making February all about You!

Let me know if there is something specific you want to see?

Have a great day!

February Favorites 2016

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you some of my February favorites. For some reason this month felt longer even though it only has 29 days. I tried a bunch of new things this past month and a few of them made it onto my current favorites list which is exciting. Here is what I have been loving.

Skincare was one of the places that I added some new favorites this month. I have already reviewed the Wet’n Wild Setting spray you can check it out here. I am in the process of reviewing the e.l.f illuminating eye cream, but so far i have enjoyed it.

This month I have managed to get less sleep than what I am use to due to my new job. I have started using my trusty Erase Paste concealer again and this flat top stipple crown brush. I absolutely love this combination and how easy it makes this concealer to apply and blend.

I have a new favorite blush it is this Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in fanciful. This blush gives me the most amazing natural yet perky cheek bones. I am also loving my eos lip balm in strawberry.

Last but not least I am obsessed with these small Altoids in wintergreen. These are the perfect size to pop into your mouth.

What are some of your favorites? Have you tried any that I have mentioned?

Have a great day!

Canceling ipsy- February Bag

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you my last ipsy bag. I have been on the fence about this subscription service for a while now and I have decided it is not worth the money I am spending on it for the things that I been receiving. Well it’s only fitting that I say farewell and show you all what came in this months bag.

What I received:

Hey honey take it off exfoliating honey peel off mask

Rob Scheppy for ‘tini neauty powder eyeshadow in pearl fizz

Cargo Cosmetics Lipgloss Anguilla

Model Co Blush Cheek Powder in Cosmopollitan 01

Luxie 504 Large Angled Brush

Well it was a great run with ipsy and I did find a few more brands I really enjoyed. I also got the opportunity to try new products I would of never ventured out and discovered by myself. Overall if you are just starting with makeup this is a great way to expand your makeup collection and get to try a variety of different products.

I bid you farewell ipsy until next time!
