Happy October Everyone!

Today I am starting my October series on my blog! I absolutely love the fall time and I am so excited to bring you content 5 days a week this month. I had such a good response in the month of August that I wanted to try it again.

I wanted to share my Fall decor with you all . I am so excited that the temperature are slowly dropping and that we get to enjoy everything pumpkin and all the beautiful colors that this season brings.

So the majority of the items I have are from Target and the dollar store. I did have a few other things from last Fall that I had saved to use this season.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and that you come back tomorrow for a new blog post.

Have you decorated for Fall yet? What is a must have Fall decor item you own?

See you all tomorrow.

How To: A Tassel Garland (Step by Step)

IMG_0704

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Two weeks ago I got the pleasure of throwing one of my closest friends a bridal shower. I did a ton of DIY’s and I wanted to share a few post explaining my experience. First off is this super easy step by step tassel garland. This is a super cheap way to decorate any space.

IMG_0693

Step 1: Fold a single sheet of tissue paper in the middle (Hot dog style).

IMG_0694

Step 2: Fold it again in half (hamburger style).

Step 3: Begin to cut 1/2 a inch strips leaving 3 inches at the top. Make sure that you start to cut at the end that does not have the folded crease!

Step 4: Open up your cut tissue paper and cut the long strip that is in the middle to match the other strips you have previously cut and instead of stopping 3 inches from the top cut all the way. You will have to pieces of cut tissue paper as seen in the 2nd picture above.

Step 5: Open up the cut tissue paper and roll it inward forming a burrito. Un tangle the cut strips as you roll.

Step 6: Twist the 3 inch that you left uncut and fold in half to have a place to feed the string through.

Step 7: Feed the string through your untapped tassel and tape leaving enough space for you to move the tassel if desired. Remember that you always wrap more tape to tighten it, but you cannot remove the tape if it is too tight and you can’t move it on your string.

Step 8: Continue this step 1-7 until you have the desired number of tassels. Feel free to customize them with as many colors as you want.

Have a great day and I will see you on Friday !

Apartment Decor: Valentine’s Day Wreath under $12

IMG_0263

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I am showing you this awesome wreath I made for my apartment front door. I got inspiration from this pinterest post and wanted to see if I could add my own spin to it. I was surprised how inexpensive this wreath ended up being.

Here is what you will need:

Two small styrofoam hearts

A Valentine’s Day themed Welcome wood sign (I got mine at the Dollar Store)

Red craft paint

Small and or regular coffee filters

A strong paint brush

A few things I learned about this wreath: you will need a lot of time to complete this. At time painting the coffee filter edges will seem like a never ending task, but keep going. Overall I love the way this looks and you can’t beat the cost of it.

Have a great day!

Apartment Decorations: A Holiday Mantel

IMG_9849

Happy Friday Everyone!

So I know we are 11 days into December and I’m a little late with the holiday decorations! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and that you are officially excited for this holiday season. I know I am! I wanted to share with you my redecorated mantel. So as you will be able to tell the mantel incorporates two holidays: Christmas and Hanukkah. One of my roommates celebrates Hanukkah and the other one Christmas. I figured it was the perfect challenge to create a mixture of decorations for a affordable mantel display.

All items will be listed at the end of this post if available online.

I decided to keep it simple since I didn’t have too much time to dedicate on decoration this year. I think it came out very well if I do say so myself.

Decorations:

Hanukkah Center Piece – Target $4

Silver Garland – Dollar Tree $1

Light Stand – Walmart $3.42

Hanukkah Cube, Christmas Present and Stars on Banner – From Roommates

Initial Stockings – Target $13

Vintage Burlap Flag Banner – Amazon $4.85

I hope this helped some of you get inspired to decorate! You don’t have to break the bank to have a beautifully decorated space. Good Luck!

What are your go to decoration pieces?

Happy Friday & have a great weekend! See you on Monday.

Merry Christmas

Every Christmas season I love to take my camera out and find one or two unique things in my surrounding world that really inspires my artistic side. This year I found some cute ornaments in my friends house and I had to show you all.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday!

xoxo,

Michelle
