Update + Future Giveaway

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

2018 has been such a interesting year for me. I learned such a valuable lesson straight off the bat that has shaped who I am becoming. It wasn’t anything earth shattering it was a lesson I was avoiding all of last year. I kept putting my head in the sand and just pretending it wasn’t meant for me. Life took the veil off my eyes and here I am today feeling like the same old me, but with more life bruises than I would have liked. I have learned to accept that I will get scrapes, bruises and scars during this journey called life and you can either embrace them or continue to sit with your head under the sand and ignore them.

These upcoming weeks are going to be crucial because I took a huge step towards my own happiness and better mental health. If all pans out I will be writing a follow-up blog post explaining a bit about what I am referring to. I think others like myself may find it helpful. As vague as I am currently being I just want to let you know you always have a option, even if it’s not convenient at the moment life has a way of figuring things out to give you a way out of any tough situation you may be in.

Okay… Enough emotional stuff let’s talk about my future giveaway. I have decided that once I hit 700 followers on my blog I will be doing a exciting giveaway for you all. I want to give back to all of you who have supported me and have stuck by me through the good and the bad.

With a grateful heart I want to say thank you!

Stay tune for the giveaway and make sure you share my page if you think this may help someone.

Have a beautiful day!

My February!

Happy Monday Everyone!

This blog post will be a introduction to this upcoming months theme. I thought it would be a nice change for the blog if I focused all of this months blog post on a particular theme. This months theme is going to be MY February. With Valentine’s Day coming up I wanted to focus all of my blog post on You. How can we make this month be extra special for us. Don’t worry I will have a little bit of everything from recipes to makeup tutorials and we can’t forget reviews with a few other things sprinkled here and there.

Here are a few picture previews for you all to get you excited.

I will be featuring some guest bloggers on Friday that will be bringing a new spin to some of my favorite post so stay tune for that!

I promise to bring you all interesting content as well as some of the old things you are used to on this lovely space.

Now grab you coffee or your favorite tea and let’s get started.

Here’s to making February all about You!

Let me know if there is something specific you want to see?

Have a great day!

1.21.17 – Why your voice matters

Happy Monday Everyone!

First off let me just say that this post may not for everyone. If that’s the case I will have a regular scheduled beauty post on Wednesday.

Thank you to all of the men and women who marched the streets on Saturday! Thank you for making the Women’s March such a beautiful success and for letting your voice be heard in a peaceful way. You are the reason why this country is great. You are the hope that we need during this time.

I sadly couldn’t participate in the Women’s March on Saturday, but  I am so proud to live in a time where so many people gathered around the Nation and around the world to make their voices be heard. As a social worker I am glad people are standing up to injustice and discrimination and want to create dialogue and change.

“If you look at our country’s history, change doesn’t come from presidents. Change comes from large groups of angry people. And if day one is any indication, you are part of the largest group of angry people I have every seen.” – Aziz Ansari

In case you missed SNL two nights ago I would suggest you click on this link and watch Aziz Ansari’s opening monologue. That’s where I took the quote above.

I urge each one of you to let your voices be heard on all of the topics that you are passionate about. Everyone’s voice is important and can create the change we need.

Have a great day!

2 yrs. on WordPress and Walking Pneumonia

2 yrs

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today’s post is going to be a short one if you haven’t guessed from the title I have walking pneumonia. Don’t ask me how I got it and how I managed to work a full work week while feeling like crap, beats me. I have been pretty much bedridden since I came home from work on Friday evening. If I attempt to walk or get dressed, basically be a normal human being I feel my lungs ache and my chest starts to hurt. I am current taking antibiotics and I am hoping I will be back to normal in a few days.

Let’s move on to a happier subject. I celebrated my 2nd year here on WordPress this past Saturday. TWO YEARS!?! How crazy is that? I never realized when I made this blog that two years later I would be posting things and people would actually follow me let alone read what I had to say. With a humble 241 followers I have achieved more than what I would have ever imagined with this little space. A big part of that is thanks to all of you who read and support me. I would have never stopped and thought that my little blog would be interesting to anyone, but me. You all have been with me in the highs and in the lows of my life and I am grateful to be able to post regularly and talk to so many of you on here.

Here is to many more years of blogging!
