Affordable Jewelry Haul

IMG_0125

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with a few pieces of jewelry that I recently purchased. As you all know I try and stick to a budget when it comes to the new jewelry I add to my collection. I already own plenty of expensive statement pieces and I don’t need to add any more of those to my collection. But let’s be honest trends come and go and you may gravitate towards a particular trend this season, but not want to spend to much on it since it will be temporary most likely.

I realized that Walmart has some amazing trendy affordable pieces that I couldn’t pass up. I would suggest you go personally to your Walmart and see what they carry, if you can’t here is the link to all of their fashion necklaces.

Can you believe that the necklace sets were $10, the first necklace was only $5, and the last pair of earrings were $3. I am in love with these new additions. They will come in handy for wedding and birthday season.

Where is your favorite place to buy affordable jewelry?

Have a great day and I will see you on Wednesday.

Stay chic!

March Favorites 2018

IMG_9875

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you my March Favorites. I have been testing quite a few new products and I am excited to share them with you. I feel like this month I had such a good routine going when it came to my skincare and makeup. I am really excited for spring to hopefully make an appearance this April. Is that too much to ask for a little bit of warm weather?

IMG_9874

As you will see I have been trying out a few new products that are natural and good for your skin. They come from this small shop in Harrisonburg, VA. You can check them here if you want to learn more.

IMG_9879

I’m currently trying out two new different makeup products from with simplicity and I have been enjoying the new additions to my makeup routine. I picked up their dry or wet eye shadow product in Latte and their mineral matte foundation.

IMG_9892

I finally got around to painting my nails and picking up a new perfume which you can read more about here. I returned to my tried and true mascara from Maybelline the Colossal Volume’ Express Cat Eye edition. The last and final product that completely blew me away this month was the Black Radiance Perfect Tone Matte Lip Creme in Berry Naked.

IMG_9889

Like I mentioned earlier I have been killing it with my skincare routine this month and I owe all of that to my new face wash from with simplicity. I also picked up the boscia no pores no shine T-zone treatment that has been helping me keep my T-zone shine free throughout the day. Last but not least I have been taking my eye makeup off with the Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads these have been part of my routine for quite some time.

I hope you all enjoyed my March favorites and that you all have a great start to April. I’m excited to see what new adventures and things I discover this upcoming month.

What were some of your favorite products for March? Anything you would recommend me try out?

Have a great Friday! See you all on Monday.

17 things I learned in 2017

IMG_1524

Happy Friday Everyone!

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since the start to 2018 and I’ve had a lot of time to think about what 2017 taught me. What lessons I learned that I want to apply to this new year. Coming into this year I am determined  to keep that growth going. I truly believe 2018 is going to be an amazing year for me and I hope for you all as well.

IMG_9048

  1. It’s okay to be scared. Life will through you curve balls and it’s okay to be afraid of what can happen. Just remember that everything happens for a reason and that one day you will look back and be thankful for how those things that you are scared of ended up shaping you.
  2. Love yourself. I spent most of my year focusing on others and putting myself on the back burner. I completely crumbled at the end of the year because I did not know how to love myself. The relationships I had built started to fall apart because something was missing, and that was knowing what I wanted and being okay with myself.
  3.  It’s okay to not be okay. The last 7 months of 2017. I was hanging on by a thread and I was faking being okay and having my sh*t in order only to fall apart behind closed door. I learned that it’s okay to not be okay and that everything will be okay if you decide to take care of yourself.
  4. Nothing is permanent. 2017 taught me that you have the power to change your situation. I also know you have to want to change your situation, but don’t let yourself thing you are stuck in a situation forever. You can control where you stand in your life.
  5. Wear Makeup if you want to. For the majority of the year I focused every morning on creating a beauty routine that would make me feel beautiful no matter what I was doing. I am so proud I took the time to do this because it has helped with my own self-esteem overall. I do have days where I don’t wear makeup, but I have realized that my morning routine is essential part of my day IMG_2287
  6. Travel more. This year I decide to travel and I cannot recommend this enough. I decide to treat myself to a big trip overseas and three smaller trips within the U.S and I am so glad I was able to do so. I learned so much and got to enjoy myself.
  7. Hustle. In 2017 I learned that when you want something you have to work really hard on achieving your dreams. So I hustle twice as hard as those around me. I currently have two jobs and I am planning on accomplishing big things this year.
  8. Spend more time with your loved ones. For the past two years I have made sure that I spend time with my parents and loved ones as often as I can. You never know when they won’t be here any more and you won’t be able to see them.
  9. Take more pictures. Capture more memories you won’t regret this.
  10. Take time to see the beauty around you. This past year I stopped to look at all the beauty that surrounded me; the sunsets, the moon, the stars, the faces of all of the people that surround me. I truly stopped and soaked it all in.IMG_0841
  11. I got creative. This past year I focused on more of my creative side. I baked, I drew, I stepped out of my comfort zone and started taking more pictures.
  12. I can do anything I set my mind to it. I was fortunate enough to be able to graduate with my MSW. This was something I did not think I was able to accomplish. It was hard and one of the most difficulty things I have ever done. At the end of it all I did it and no one can take that away from me.
  13. I learned to be okay with my sarcastic self. I realized that those who love me love that I can be sarcastic and I don’t need to hide that side of me.
  14. Do things that make you happy. Life is too short to not do what makes you happy. This past year I explored places I wanted to visit, I listened to more music, I created things I wanted to create and I listened to my heart.
  15. I let go of relationships that weren’t helping me grow. I stuck to my guns and removed those that did not add anything valuable to my life. I stopped begging for people’s time and attention. IMG_1086
  16. Red Lipstick. I started wearing more red lipstick because I can!
  17. Take a moment. Last but not least I learned to take a moment each day to reflect on just how wonderful I am. Even on the worst days I still managed to get out of bed and  that’s an accomplishment on it’s own.IMG_9291I hope that 2018 is filled with many more exciting adventures and that I continue to figure out who I am and what brings joy and happiness to my world.

What are some things you learned in 2017?

Have a great weekend! I will see you on Monday

This Election…

donald-trump_612x380

Happy Monday Everyone!

A few days have passed since the United States elected their new president and I like many were in shock that Donald Trump was elected the next president of the United States. I had very mixed emotions. Mostly bad ones because if everything he said in the campaign trail came true my family would be impacted. As a HispanicLatina (his words not mine!) I am a minority in this country and I often times get discriminated and made fun of for my culture. I got the privileged to vote on Tuesday and I did so keeping in mind that not only will I be impacted, but my family and those people around me who don’t have a voice.

As I sit here on Thursday night I want to say the following words a old roommate of mine posted on his facebook.

“President Donald Trump has my unity. He and our Congress have my support as they do their work to try and fix the economy, our place within the world, and put people back to work. He is our President, and I respect that office and what it represents.

What President Trump does NOT have is a free pass. He has used extremely damaging language during his campaign, and calling for unity now does not forgive that. He has threatened people for the way they look, the way they feel, and for circumstances beyond their control. A lot of people have a lot of reason to be sick and worried.

But America is a place for all. In my lifetime, our vigilance to that idea has never been more important. Our engagement in political discourse, our willingness to challenge our leaders when they step out of line, and our acceptance and protection of one another as fellow Americans with human needs and undeniable rights is now required.” – Jeff Dedrick

As we move forward I just wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on this topic. I consider this blog a online journal about everything I want to share. I promise my beauty post will be back on Wednesday.

Have a great day!
