Learning to Love yourself: Dear Future Me.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today’s post is a personal one and I wouldn’t be hurt if you decided to skip this. Over the past 6 months I have been working on learning to really love who I am and what I believe in. It wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that I really started enjoying who I am shaping out to be. I wrote a letter to my future self for those days I need a little extra pick me up. I hope you enjoy future Michelle!

Dear Future Self,

You are an amazing human being with flaws and your fair share of mistakes. You are a woman who stands for what she believes in and goes after what she wants. Some days you feel out of places and like you don’t belong, but trust me you will accomplish much more than what you believe you can. You have such a big heart and you love helping others, but you also know where your limits are, and that’s something you just learned. Speaking of learning you have realized that knowledge is an important piece of growing and you take every opportunity you can to research things that you enjoy.

You are a fighter and you have been since birth. You came into this world being a premature baby fighting to live and you succeeded. You may have some complications from that, but nothing that hasn’t made you stronger in the process. As you begin a new journey this Fall remember that you were destined to help others and that God has an amazing plan for you.

Looking back at your early twenties you have done things others wish that they could do. You skydived and traveled to Europe for a month. You got to ride a Gondola in Italy, see the eiffel tower and ride the London Eye all in a span of a month. You have visited Morocco and graduated from college. You got your first real world job and you seem to be pretty good at it. You have so much more to achieve and that’s the best part about this life. You have no idea what you will do next, but that is what makes you unique. Life is never a dull moment when you are around.

I hope this has made you realize how wonderfully flawed you are and how I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Love, M

I have to be honest this was the hardest thing to write. As humans we naturally think of the things we can improve or change. This letter was all about the great things that make me who I am and I hope you all enjoyed this.  If you are going through a hard time in life, know that you are beautiful and this too shall pass. You are stronger than what you know and there is always a light at the end of this tunnel we are all in.

See you all on Friday for a Sweet Treat post!
