Tarte: Amazonian Colored Clay Liquid Foundation

Have you ever had a love hate relationship with a foundation? You love the coverage, how it matched to your skin, but you hate how oily you look at the end of the day. I have! Today I wanted to talk about a foundation I love and hate, but I can’t seem to stop using it.

This particular foundation came out with Tarte’s new Amazonian Collection for 2014. They have a mineral powder version that is supposed to be amazing. Everyone and their cat seems to be raving about it online. I haven’t checked it out because I’m saving for my trip, but it’s on my wish list maybe for Christmas.

I wanted to share some pictures of how the foundation looks like when it is on my skin so you can see what I am talking about. At the end of this post I will discuss what type of skin type this might be better suited for.

This foundation is light weight and can be built up if needed. The coverage is built able and can be a considered light to medium. The staying power is not like the Revlon Color Stay foundation. By the end of the day you will see the foundation around your nose and chin be very faint.

Who should wear this foundation: Someone with normal skin. This foundation does nothing in preventing oil from coming through. If you have large pores this foundation won’t hide them. As time goes on it settles very well into your skin and can leave them very noticeable.

Now with all of that being said I don’t know why I still keep using this foundation. I guess I am too lazy to go out and buy a similar shade in my favorite drugstore foundation. The struggles of Michelle!

I hope you have a great Wednesday 🙂

  1. Ugh Estee Lauder Doublewear! I loved it in CA but something about the extreme TX weather or maybe it’s the fact that I’m in air conditioning all day really messes with my skin and makes me oily! Funny enough, I hated L’Oreal Lumi foundation in CA because it was too dewy but it’s perfect in TX. Guess my love/hate relationships depend on where I am. Hahaha
