Review: Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

I feel like this blog post has been 2 months in the making and I’m really happy to bring you this review! You’re probably sick of all of these reviews, but I bring you yet another one. This go around I am trying out the Clinique dark spot corrector. You can find this in any clinique counter, sephora, ulta only has the version for men.

It is no surprise to anyone that I have had a hard time with my acne. I have been trying to get rid of those pesky spots for a couple of years now. With acne you get scarring, lets just say that I am not the best at NOT popping my zits. I know I know bad habit but trust me I didn’t know better a few years ago. I try to not pop any of my pimples now, but the damage was done and I have scarring that is left from many years of popping my pimples.

*pardon the chipped nail I took this picture before repainting my nails*

As you all know my face is not perfect I have been able to master the art of covering all of these spots on a day-to-day basis. I was in desperate need of a product that can help me get of rid of some of these scars. I decided to try out this serum and see what happens. The pictures below were taken before I began applying this to my face. I wanted you all to see what this product exactly does to my face.

* the red spot you see at the end of my jaw is my eczema :(*

As you can see after a 2 month use ( I used up the whole bottle) of this product I have loved how my skin looks. In the before pictures I still had a few active break out. I was able to finally control my acne, and now with the help of this Clinical Dark Spot Corrector I am not ashamed of not wearing make up. I still have a few spots that the product didn’t erase, but currently I am okay with how my skin look. I am sure if I bought another bottle I would be able to get rid of those smaller dark spots, but for now I am super happy with the results.

I have compiled a few tips so you can see better results:
-Use SPF everyday on your face. DO NOT skip this because you will not see results this fast.
-Drink plenty of water. It will help your skin rejuvenate and help the dark spot corrector do it’s job.
-Don’t touch your face. Try and keep your hands away from your face to avoid clogging your pores.
-Apply only in the areas you need this. I did one pump x2 a day (morning and night).

With this in mind I cannot guarantee the same results I had. Everyone’s skin is different and the only way to figure out if this could work for you is by trying. Sephora has a great return policy if you don’t like the product.

Have you ever tried this before? Do you suffer from acne and scarring? What has worked for you?

  1. I heard Garnier has a similar (and cheaper) cream. I’m curious to know how it competes. Any plans to try that? Luckily, I didn’t have bad acne but my sister did and she was using proactive for a while.

  2. Don’t use proactiv!!! It dries out your oil glands, but then the oil glands make 10x more oil. Essentially, people see results at first, but then acne gets worse.

    1. I stopped usuing after a few months because it didn’t do anything. I don’t really recommend Proactiv so it’s good to know the cause reoccuring acne when on that product thanks!

  3. This didn’t work for me at all unfortunately – i use alpha H liquid gold as an exfoliator and it works pretty well for me. I’m really bad at using SPF every day though… gotta start getting into that habit!

    1. I found that when I applied SPF this dark spot corrector worked better. LIke I said in my post this may not be for everyone. You should still try and get into the routine of applying SPF your skin, it will thank you later 🙂
